Gwen was doing the "stiff upper lip and carry on" thing they do in Torchwood. And Jack... Well, I think having lived so long he's become almost jaded by the death around him. It really is a sad and lonely existence that he has. :(
There's a comm called resourcelove and someone posts screencaps of all of the MD episodes. I got it from one of those. That's where I got most of my pics from. Unfortunately, they didn't have Episode 9 up yet. I wanted the pic where Esther and Jack were discussing the plan to split up. I also wanted a picture from after she was shot in Episode 10 to make a death icon from (for my torchwoodland death series and one also from Episode 10 of Rex kissing her for torchwhostills's Love and Affection challenge, but it was not to be.
The one thing I don't like about that scene is the damn bright white light right behind them. It blows out the color when you try to make something nice out of it.
Oh sorry, glad to know about the place and the icons. I do have the color icon, I meant did you find a larger picture somewhere that you made the icon from? I would love to have the bigger picture of it. :D
Yes I wondered why that icon looked kind of strange in the b&w, it was the light.
Well I can download big files from my home email address. I could send it to you on a private message if you could send the large picture to me? If not that is ok. :D
Here's the link to the download for screencaps of episode 1. You'll see quite a few shots from that scene. I think there are at least 3 of Jack cradling Esther.
It was about halfway through episode 1, so if you just have one folder of pics, it's about halfway through but if you have the episode separated into two folders (that's how it was for me) then it's near the end of the first folder.

I wish I had some caps from Episode 9 where they decide to split up.
You know, the only person appropriately sad about her death was Rex...I'm just saying...slightly suspicious...
